El Pescadero and Todos Santos, Mexico January 2025
New Year and a new passport inspired a trip. What a grand way to start a New Year. My aunt mentioned to her family that she wished she had a passport so she could escape the cold Wisconsin winter. She had dreams of visiting Mexico since she had heard stories from her children and grandchildren of the sunny days and friendly welcomes! Her son-in-law did not need to hear her wish twice-he helped her with the process and soon she had a passport.
During one of our phone calls she explained to Bob and I that her passport had arrived. She was so excited and of course we were very excited for her! During a Christmas greeting text with my cousin a Mexico trip was mentioned. I was so excited I sort of, kind of, well I actually invited ourselves to join the group! My cousin was very gracious and included us in the adventure!
My aunt’s daughter and son and their families plus her granddaughter and her family made for a very fun group!
What an honor it was for Bob and I to join this celebratory adventure!
Our family knows how to travel. My aunt instinctively knew to invite a young couple to share her table. This was just minutes at the start of her adventure. I love that she was so open to learning from this couple even though we did not share a common language. Our common language was kindness!
My cousin found a six bedroom vacation rental. As you can see we had a luxurious home for our stay!
Packer game? Well we found a beach bar that had the game on. It was a fun watch party.

A breakfast margarita with lavender and a piece of toast as a garnish!
A little relaxing and family dinners-it doesn't get better!
The owner of our rental property brought us banana leaves for grilling fresh caught fish.
Everyone helped but my cousin shared his chef and bar tending talents with us almost every evening. It was like having a personal chef!
Wearing a mini sombrero here but this woman could mix a mean basil-lemon martini! There were fields of basil near the house and when it was harvested the aroma was heavenly.
