Melbourne, Australia - Great Ocean Road and Yarra Valley Vineyards Day Trips

Melbourne has much to offer and so does the surrounding areas. During our visit we took advantage of small group travel and joined two day trips. One trip was a trip down the Great Ocean Road with stops at Kennett River, Apollo Bay, Maite's Rest Rainforest Trail, The Twelve Apostles and an inland return route with a stop in Colac. Highlights of the day were Koala sightings, breathtaking views, delicious ice cream and Black Carnivorous Snails. Oh, and learning that there are not twelve Apostles - well at least not the rock formation type.
Best quote from the day? "off your dial" As we drove through the location of the Fall Creek Music Festival our guide used this saying to describe the concert attendees and how they could even know if they had a good time since they were "off their dial" for the entire weekend.

The destination of our second road trip was the Yarra Valley and four vineyards. Good wine, great food, fun fellow travelers and a good day was had by all! Yarra Valley is a landscape photographer's dream. I could have stayed there for a month taking photos. Maybe sampling wine a few days out of that month.
Enjoy my photos and please feel free to have a glass of wine as you travel through the Yarra Valley with me!

"There comes a moment on a journey when something sweet, something irresistible and charming as wine raised to thirsty lips, wells up in the traveller's being."
