Road Trip-Fall 2017 Arizona, New Mexico and Kansas

Road trips are loved or loathed. I truly have the gypsy soul and adore road trips. Is it the allure of the freedom of the open road? Perhaps days of unscheduled adventures? For me it is definitely exploring the nooks and crannies along the route. No matter what path you take, your destination or the duration of your journey pack the car and take off!
My journey is taking me from Arizona to Wisconsin. This post will share a few stops in Arizona, New Mexico and Kansas.

Standing on the corner of.....yep...you are correct...Winslow, Arizona!

My journey then lead me to Sante Fe, New Mexico. I have visited this artsy city many times and always try to find someplace new to explore.

I took a few photos of St. Francis because my mother admired him. I think she would have loved this sculpture of "St. Francis dancing on water".

From Santa Fe I headed NE towards Oklahoma and Kansas. This is a photo of Wagon Mound, New Mexico. Any guesses why it got this name?

Traveling on through Eastern New Mexico and the corner of Oklahoma I continued my journey into Kansas. You will learn of my Kansas City destination as you read this post.
The following shot is from Kansas.....as I mentioned the allure of the open road. And this one seemed to be paved with gold-golden wildflowers!

In Kansas I stayed in Wilson. A town of just a few hundred people but also the Czech Capitol of Kansas. The hotel was an old railway hotel. It was fun to imagine what it was like when guests were bustling through the front doors.

Kansas City....my destination pre-Wisonsin. Why you may ask? Lidia's!

As I described my evening to my friend, I was like a kid at Christmas! What a delightful evening. The food, atmosphere and service were outstanding. Take a look!

The pre-dinner service meeting for the wait staff. I always see this on cooking shows!

Wisconsin here I come.....my next post will surely include lots of Wisconsin shenanigans! See you then!
