Walking through a Textbook-Berlin Air Lift
History is everywhere in Berlin. Buildings, streets, the Wall, monuments and even reflected in the faces of the people I meet. Berlin residents impress me as proud people who are anxious to share their city. This week I planned a morning to explore the Berlin Tempelhof Airport sight. The airport was built in 1927 and closed in 2008. The property manager for my flat told me that Berlin citizens voted overwhelmingly to keep the area for public use. The runways are used for biking, running and walking. Kite flying is also popular.
